Our J. V. and Varsity Teams took an L today.

In our first Volleyball contest of the 2016 against Hillsdale High School in Jeromesville, Ohio, we took a lost in both the JV and Varsity games.  It wasn’t a pretty outing.  Our girls did their best and they will do much better when they work to communicate with each other.  This will take time.  We

Co-Girls’ Volleyball Captains

I heard today that there was a vote taken recently to determine who would be helping Coach Scharf lead our team to winning the Senate Volleyball Championship.  I was told that the decision was unanimous.  The winners are two seniors. They are 12th graders, Dejah Hollis and Terrae Morring, number 5.  Congratulations ladies!

This morning when I arrived at school, to my surprise, there were over 30 girls out for Volleyball. Some of these girls are also willing to double.  They intend to do more than one  Interscholastic sport during the same season.  We applaud them and say “Thank you”.

First Annual Physicals were a success.

Thanks to the cooperation of students, parents, coaches and staff of the Athletics Department of Cleveland Metro Schools, all went well.  At least 80%  of our student-athletes got it done.  This effort will save us time and money.  It is wonderful to know up front that our student-athletes, Middle School and High School have completed this basic

Two-A-Days Anyone?

Our Warriors Football Team starts Two-A-Day practices from Monday, August 1st to Friday, August 12th.  There will be an away scrimmage on Saturday, August 13th against Open Door Christian Schools Inc.

Tennis Practice has started.

Our Girls’ Tennis Team is slowly but surely coming along.  We are encouraging more girls to come out and give it a try just in case they do not make the Volleyball or the Cross Country Team. Conversely, remember, at Whitney Young we encourage everyone to play multiple sports.  Think of it as a form
